While setting at a family gathering early my daughter came up to me and whispered "can I go hunting when we get home". One of the women over heard her question and said "that's your daughter for sure" and my wife's cousin whose in her mid 20's said "girl, your not a normal teenage girl... it's cold out side". My daughter smiled and said "I have warm clothes". I was ever whelmed with pride.

My daughter is on the shooting team at her school and does pretty well. She has her own compound bow and tree stand that she hunts out of when her and her step dad hunt since I don't bow hunt any more. She has more camo than I do. She also made a 100 on her hunter's safety course, the highest in a BIG class of mostly boys, and busted 2 of her 3 clay targets and when the instructor asked if anyone would like to shoot some more she was the first to throw up her hand.

I have assisted her on many hunts and have watched how she handles a weapon. She's shown maturity beyond her age and I felt today was the day that I was going to let her go alone. Albeit a hard one. I was in the barn warming up the Rhino when she walked in and asked why I didn't have my camo on. I told her that I wasn't going and she smiled from ear to ear and said "REALLY".

I drove her to the blind, got her all set up but, I gave her one more test and asked her where her safe fields of fire was. She looked over the field and pointed them out. I told her to call me if she was ready to come home and that I would come back at dark to get her if I didn't hear from her. With that I zipped up the blind and started towards the Rhino but, before I got there she stuck her head out the window and said "daddy... thank you" I said "your welcome... just be careful please". She smiled and said "I love you dad."
If not for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

I regret never having a daughter. I guess alot of prospective boyfriend/victims should be grateful though. \:\)

Very cool. My daughter got girlified by her momma and she never was interested. Thankfully we have a son that goes with me and does the shooting these days. Not quite old enough to hunt by himself yet.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You are lucky! My daughter has growed up in a home where she is surrounded by whitetail hunting 24/7 year round.. She's 8 and knows all about deer. And I beg her to go hunting with me everytime I leave and she cares nothing about it. But I'm not gonna make her go.. So cherish it!
