I like them. Just don't look at the clock, and bring plenty of eats.

My opinion is they are long and tiring so you better have some high energy food to keep you going and you better have a really comfortable treestand if you're going to be sitting in a tree all day.

When I was hunting my old lease I did it pretty often cause I had confidence a good buck could step out at anytime, honestly I haven't had a place I felt like was worth it since

200 isn't much to walk on. IMO I would sit in a stand down wind of the thickest stuff you can find and hold tight. JMO

All day sits are difficult in my opinion and prefer not to. I've done them but mid afternoon gets slow. The past one that i attempted was at lbl during the thanksgiving hunt. Only reason i sat all day is because i had one full day to hunt and i drove from knoxville and the second being is i walked close to a mile back in the woods. However, I did have a shot a a very nice buck around 2:00. Shot three times and missed. He was on hot pursuit of a doe and I just couldnt connect. I was sick.

I really like the all day sits. I have done 4 or 5 this year. Had plans on staying all day before, but made kills so ended the hunt early.

The most important thing might be to have a comfortable treestand or a nice spot on the ground so you can take a nap!

The thing to do is slowly extend your sits over the season. Once you can comfortably sit until 2, you are in the clear for later in the season when the days are short. It's mental endurance that you have to build up. A short break to do some jumping jacks and get the blood flowing, even laying down for a 20 minute power nap, does wonders.

Glad you're back posting again DH1990. I've never done an all day sit personally but I've hunted mid morning till dark.

Just remember hunting should be fun, not miserable.

I only pull them at high % times in November. If I don't have pretty good confidence in seeing a good buck I normally wont sit all day in a tree!

All day sits are very tough. I did one this year. I've had better luck on either morning or evening hunts. All day hunts are just a guarantee I'll take a couple days off. This year I came down Thanksgiving morning and jumped my 9 pointer. I saw him as I came out for the day and shot him at 10:00am or so. No plans for all day sits in the near future. I'm getting too old.

It's basically a state of zen to sit in a stand all day. You have to "give in" in order to get there. At some point, you'll start fighting yourself and attempt to talk yourself into giving up. You have to overcome that. Once you do "give up", you'll know it. You'll feel content and your mind becomes free of outside thoughts. You'll have to turn your cell phone off and not know what time it is. The clock is your enemy.

done it many times. but I would not walk 200 acres isn't much and it could hurt your hunting. but like said before sit in the nastiest stuff you can find and hold tight. get a good cushion and some snacks and something to drink. do not look at the clock even if you think a long time has gone by don't look at it.

I usually do all hunts several times a year depending on deer movement and where I'm hunting. My first all day sit this year was at LBL, I like being on stand all day there because other hunters moving the deer. The key to me sitting in a treestand all day is plenty of sunflower seeds. I have been on stand all day 3 times in past two weeks. I can tell you one thing deer are moving good at daylight, 10-11am, then again right at dark, with this full moon. I took a nice 8pt at 11am yesterday.

I do the opposite. Cell phone on. External battery for cell phone in backpack. Miss seeing unknown numbers of deer due to checking tndeer and other sites during the day and texting people. Sadly, I don't think I could sit all day without my cell phone.

If the game chart says mid day is the peak I don't mind sitting.........but that is the only time I do it besides going to LBL.
