Okay, in such a huge area where would you even start hunting? I know that the original release was near what is now the "hostel", but from there where do you think?

I know it is a few weeks off after deer season, but I want to spend a couple days trying to find a hog if possible. After that it is going to be "pay to hunt" for me. I love hog hunting, but TN isn't the best place to be for them.

No offense but I hope it never is!

I was in BSF all weekend on a backpacking/hunting trip. To be honest, hogs are there but it takes work to get em. My experience is this- hunt the creek bottoms at the South Fork River The further you go into the gorges the more scarce the sign is minus a few areas. I took a group into No Business Gorge 12-13 thru 12-15 and there was hog sign all from the Dry Branch creek to the river. Up stream there was not much but a few good bear sign and prints. From No Business Creek mouth to Big Branch Creek mouth was torn up. Hit me up if you would like as I have only taken one out of there, but we go in twice a year (once during during deer season and once during the extended hog season) looking for those boys. Whatever you do.....plan ahead with a good compass and topo map becasue you dont want to ge lost in that place. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice! I'm looking at the easiest way to access that area on the maps. I still think I should steal my wife's horse. \:D

without dogs hog hunting BSF is just about a waste of time. They are
there but be prepared to cover alot of ground and not see a thing.

Never a waste of time. Its harder for sure, but hogs have been taken without dogs and will continue to do so. Idont hunt with hogs because I enjoy the chase and the hiking. I dont enjoy the hauling out!
