That said - if you want to lose weight, fix your diet. It will make a much bigger impact.

Same for me. If I don't go to a gym I don't do nothing. Diet is 60% of muscle growth and weight loss

I have insanity and its craziness. Thought about T25 but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Personally, I've found diet is more like 90%.

Done P90X, lost 45 lbs, but like you, I cant stand to listen to Tony in that series any longer. I really need to get back on one of them, and a gym is out for me. Gyms are for weight lifting in my opinion.

I am thinking about P90X3 of T25 myself.

Kimber - how about you grow some self control and stop yaking in the gym?

Set a time limit for your regular workout and GET IT DONE. I can promise you, adding a time element to your regular gym routine will take it to an entirely new level, and you don;t have to buy anything new, start working out at home, or sacrifice using actual gym equipment.

I work out every morning about 5am, and have to be back to the house by 6am to get the family moving, shower, and head out the door towards work by 6:30. By the nature of my schedule - I don't have time to dilly-dally or chit-chat with other gym-goers, I get in, get it done, and get on with my day.

Well, when you're working out in a small gym where you have friends etc who
are in political positions - folks you don't want to be rude to, you have to walk a fine line. Maybe you read into what I said incorrectly so I'll fix that.. I don't bring about conversation in the gym - actually try to run back and forth from resistance to cardio fast enough that it almost looks stupid but in going from room to room ppl stop me to talk.
For now, the gym is OUT and the little local gym is probably history for me.
I happen to be driven enough to do this at home....do have some intermittent complications however I'll work around those but getting my head right again will mean I have to tune out all the gym BS for a while. I'm setting a goal of 205lbs - about 23lbs to lose, at home. Reward will be getting my gym membership restarted and moving back into 2@days several days a week.

Beyond P90X etc I have some pretty dang good gym equipment for an Old Redneck working out at home and, depending on a persons goals, a load of gym equipment is not necessary anyway. For me, resistance is VERY important but NOT my top priority anymore. Cardio has to become top priority for me and the small gym I was at had little to offer there. Once I hit 205lbs my new membership will be a much bigger - much nicer - much more equipped gym about 20 miles one way from me vs 3 miles one way from me, but it will be worth it I believe.
