I know this has probably been asked a 1000 times but Im gonna make it 1001 :).

I currently shoot 2 pellets 100 grains of 777 and a PB platinum 270 grain bullet. my rifle is a CVA optima Pro with a 29" stainless barrel. it shoots ok but I'm not impressed with the performance of the bullet over the past couple years the few deer ive shot with it didn't bleed a drop hardly. If I hadn't seen 1 of them fall I would have never found him. Last sunday a Coyote actually got up and Ran off after being shot.

Whats loads have you guys had success with in this rifle. Thanks in advance for your input

Go away from the powerbelts would be my biggest suggestion. T/c shockwaves or hornady sst are probably the cheapest route. And most people like them

I shoot 110 gr. 777 powder with a 300 gr hornady sst red sabot.
3 shots 100 yds touching.
I usally clean after 3 shots.
I shot it total of 5 times this past monday while in the stand and the 5th shot was dead on at about 95 yds thru a bucks chest.
It ran about 30 yards and piled up. The first 3 that morning dropped in their tracks but two of them were neck shots.

I shoot 150 gr Pyrodex with a 250gr SST in an Optima Pro Elite. Leaves the insides like jelly. Give them a chance, I think you will be pleased....

My Optima V2 gets tight groups with 100 gr. WhiteHots, Winchester 777 Primer and Hornady 240 gr. XTP. Will do some experimenting during the off season. Wanna try Pyrodex loose powder, Pyrodex pellets and maybe some BH 209.

I highly recommend this combination, I took a beautiful, 100 pound doe Wednesday. 90 grains of Blackhorn 209 and a Hornady 50 cal. Black sabot with a 300 grain, 45 cal. XTP bullet. Super accurate and almost ZERO smoke with the BH 209. Try it.
