If anybody here owns an original CVA Accura (before the QRBP)here is a tip to get perfect ignition with Blackhorn 209. You want 100 % of the primer charge going into the flash hole. Any blow back could result in hang fires. Take a flat head screw driver and back out the screw that holds in the firing pin a little at a time. Make sure you have enough clearance to snap the gun shut.

When you get it just right your spent primers will look like this. No blowback or soot on the primer...all the charge from the primer is going into the flash hole and igniting the BH209. I shoot Federal 209 primers and getting the head space just right has given great results with BH209.

Yep those are the videos with the shims. You can skip the shims and through trial and error back out the screw to get the same result but the shims would be better IMO.

true but be careful because the bushing can loosen up over time and cause it to over crush the primer. When i first did the adjustment without shims, i used one wrap of white teflon tape around the bushing threads to hold it snug.

If I'm not mistaken if the screw backs out too far the gun won't snap shut. I did do the Teflon tape.

it wont snap shut indeed but if its loaded and you prime it and it is backed out more then the eye can notice, you will crush the primer and set the rifle off. The teflon tape worked great for me as well, but the shims were cheap and allowed me to tighten it down without fear of it coming loose.

I've gotta get some of these shims. Just haven't called the people FG pm'd me. I tried to back out the nut and get an idea of what I needed to do. My problem was the nut was barely in when I finally got the headspace fairly correct. I've emailed CVA previously but they were of no help.
