Can I find the Ballistic Coefficient of a 300WSM 180 gr Fusion Bullet? Figured I can get the answer faster here than Googling it

Thanks Tiny, but I have that looked at that ballistics table. I was looking for the BC so that I could put it into this thing here . It may not make that big of a difference, I don't know.

Thought that was Why you was wanting to know the BC,and yes it does make a difference in the math,as does other items. How much is the debateable part.

Might have to call fusion and get it. I have called to get ammo company's listed or a bullets BC in the past to use in ballistic programs.

.45 Colt,

Good going on the math or program run through to get that BC. Seems a little high giving the bullets profile from looking at a few loaded rounds.

Either way I would like to know how you came up with it.

Looked pretty high to me too. That's why I put in the caveat about their Ballistic Table being correct.

To get the figure, I plugged their figures into an external ballistics program, tweaked the BC until their downrange figures tracked. Then re-checked on two other external ballistics programs.

I think they might be a little optimistic but that's not unusual for manufacturers. One major manufacturer pulled all their rimfire ballistics "information" from their website when they realized that what they were claiming for velocity/drop figures was impossible.

And a caveat of my own: Ballistic Coefficient of a bullet isn't a fixed figure. It can/will vary depending on velocity. Usually this won't make too much difference to most, so it is neglected. The figure given by a manufacturer for a bullet, or the figure calculated, is close enough for any practical work.
