I'll shoot just after dawn and be in an air conditioned truck by 7:15. Not bad at that time of day.

I went to the range last weekend to work on my loads for my 444 Marlin XLR open sights, with the Speer gold dots Went from 40 grains IMR 4198 to 44 grains with no signs of pressure probs (in the hot weather) The 44 grains grouped the best at about 1/2 inch @75, but the 41 grains did almost as well and because 44 grains is beyond book (speer #14 40gr)I went with the 41 grains

alot of you that reload do you change your loads often based on weather conditions and so forth. i really dont like to shoot in temps like this cause, i know my rifle is pretty much dead on with the ammo i shoot from year to year. and dont like to make scope adjustment changes and like to walk away from a shooting session with confidence. and i probably only shoot 15-20 rounds thru my ought6 over 3-4 sessions prior to rifle season. usually put 3-5 rounds on target with clean barrel and bore snake between shots, takes 25-45 minutes for me to usually squeeze off 3-5 rounds with clean cool barrel and sometimes i will put old targets that i have shot behind a fresh target to check repeatability. the big problem i am facing in the next 3-4 years is running out of the ammo i shoot, remington discontinued their line of boattail premier 165 30-06 load and i grabbed up a 200 rd case lot box on the internet from a place called ammo shack in up state new york, i have tried alot of different brands over the years, this rifle will not shoot ballistic tipped ammo worth a bean, it shot winchester failsafe rounds real well the 1st one or two years they came out with them, then they did something too the black coating on those bullets, and i noticed a change from an old box to a new one, went so far as too even call the olin plant in illionois and talk to their tech rep, and he said they did tweak the coating mixture some what, so that is when i had too start all over again and found that it really liked those rem boatail premiers, it also shot hornady ammo pretty well, but i need to get out and try some of the newer loads available over the last 3-4 years . cant get into reloading dont have the funds to get set up, cause if i do it i want to do it full blown like bill nye the science guy ,and my old ladies head will spin and green puke come flying out when i tell her i want to spend the better part of a grand to get set up reloading

I dont set up my loads for different weather conditions, they wont change enough to worry about it. I wont shoot in surface of the sun temps like this just because it will cause the heat waves from the barrel to be more obvious.
