So I'm a BH209 virgin and recovering pellet user.

How do ya'll deal with a frosty gun? Do you keep your gun in your vehicle overnight? Do you load the night before w/o a cap?
Keep your gun inside overnight as normal or what?

Once I load it it stays either in the garage or the truck. It doesn't come back inside until I have cleaned it and it is through for the season. I have always felt that bringing it in and out of a warm environment, your home, could create moisture in the barrel. I will even load it out in the garage instead of the house and then put it in a case and in the truck.

When you finish hunting and it is cols out, put a baggie over the barrel and then put a rubber band on it to seal the barrel.
If you are shooting a removable Breech Plug put a spent primer with . a surgical glove to seal the breech, cut off excess glove.
If you have a caplock put a baggie over the nipple and let the hammer down to seal the nipple.
Bring it inside. After it warms up you can remove the cap and plastic if you want. I normally leave it on till the next morning when I hunt. I have been doing this for 20 years and never had any
problem with moisture. The problem with moisture is the humidity in your house, keep it out of your barrel and you have no problem.

I've never done anything special with Blackhorn. Load it and leave it till you need it. Pull the trigger and it goes boom every time. Left it loaded 10 months and shot a deer with it no problem. That is with bringing it in and out of the house for each outing. Blackhorn is NOT hygroscopic like blackpowder or Triple 7.

I use BH 209 and I keep mine loaded all year. In and out of the house no matter where you go bh209 will shoot every time. I have done alot of test with BH and it will not suck up water.
