I got away from pellets and use loose now except in one gun. Cheaper and you can easily adjust your charge to get them shooting better than with pellets. I went with 777 because you reduce your weight by 15% saving more $.

Loose is definately cheaper. Doesnt triple 7 leave a bad crud ring though ?

in the 209 ignition inline guns, yes the crud ring is bad and must be swabbed between shots.

I was ready to switch to a 209 conversion and use BH209.....UNTIL i found out that you cant use BH with an open breech rifle..which is what i have. This was AFTER i bought 2 bottles of BH ! Im just gonna stick with #11's. Still, was wanting to know what is better- pyrodex select or pyrodex rs ? Anyone ?

Buy a CVA Optima or Wolf, awesome rifles with BH209.

Select has better consistency but is much bulkier. Is it worth the extra cost? No.

I have tried both the select and RS and prefer the RS. It shoots better in the guns that I have. It is not that big of a difference but the RS does give me tighter groups.
