I am going to pack like I am going to sit all day both Sat and Sun. It will all depend on what the weather and deer are doing to decide if I do, but I am leaning this way.

On an all day sit, I will take a sandwich bag and fill it with the trail mix that includes peanuts, almonds, raisins, and M&Ms. I will then take a few of the small snickers out of the wrapper and place in that bag as well. I will then take another small sandwich bag and put a can of viennas or beanie weanies in it with a handful of crackers. That is my snack and lunch. I will bring two or three bottles of water with me as well.

An all day sit will flat wear you out more than you think.

I've been trying to get on stand at 10:00 am and hunt till dark. This allows me to catch mid day and evening action. Its a lot more doable than sitting all day.

Back to the comment of certain foods attracting deer. Apple Cider is a big one. When i was young my papaw took me hunting and he always drank hot apple cider instead of coffee. I watched 2 does walk within feet of us sniffing the air. My guess was them sniffing the cider. Anything sweet. Eat an apple or two and throw the core down on a trail. Make some peanut butter crackers and throw those down.

You all willing to sit all day have my respect. I have no interest in doing so. I want hunting to be fun, not a chore. If the choice is between having a fun and enjoyable hunt, or killing deer, I'll choose the fun part!

This could easily be bordering on baiting, careful.

Great advice. Also Tylenol and if you eat deer jerkey or beef jerkey bring som dental floss. I will have at least one all dayer. More than that is is not fun for me

A couple more ideas:

1) I have a little tiny radio/ear plugs and listen to tunes or a football game every so often; just provides a little diversion.
2) Use your binoculars often; it helps break up the monotony of staring at the same scenery for hours on end.
3) Years ago I "customized" a Summit climber and I swear...if I'm not careful I'll fall asleep. A little extra padding, lumbar support, footrest, neoprene inside the seat/butt for insulation and warmth, fanny pack w/cupholder on the side where I can get to stuff with minimal noise and movement.

As long as there's a few critters...birds, squirrels, and maybe a deer every so often I can do it.

I do take binoculars on long sits. I actually enjoy bird watching while on stand.
