Just remember with the property site that that is not a legal representation of the boundaries. I have seen it be way off by hundreds of yards, and Ive seen it dead on. Ive also seen it include smaller tracts within larger tracts that arent actually inside a larger tract.

Steven is correct. We just had part of our property surveyed, and a couple of corners on the Tn assessor's map were off by several hundred yards.

Love google earth! Been using it for years. I also use it to give estimates on yards so I dont have to go to their house!

Well that answers some questions I had about a few pieces of property. Thanks for that info...now Im curious why they are so far off, I honestly thought they would have legal clout.

Drag your mouse across Earth and watch for elevation changes at the bottom of the display. You can find rigelines. One you find one, get very particular looking for a bench or saddle.

I knew before I ever walked on the property ridgelines ran west to east and where there was a wide gulley that was a likely path to the adjacent landowners soybean crop.

They are just tax maps, tax maps arent representations of boundaries, they are for tax assessment purposes. A deed and survey is the way to know.
