Anyone know anything about mausers. I have an old one that a half way gun smith started working on. He didn't finish and I have had it sitting in the closet. Is there still any interest in these? I think it's a 98 or something like that. Don't know much about just seeing what I could get out of it to get it out of the way

If its a 98 and the numbers match, you could get a decent bit for it but if its been refinished, its brings the value down some.

It's in pretty bad shape now. He sanded and cut the stock down think he said the barrel rifling was shot out. In thinking if someone wanted to rebarrel this one it would be a cheap project for them.

FN Mausers are the most desire able actions, but they were made for so many countries in those days that it all depends on where, when, and who made them. The when thing comes into play more than you may think, pre ww2 Mausers were finished much better than Mausers made during the war, when #s mattered more than finish. Certain countries Mausers were better built than others. Just off of the top of my head:
Belgian
Argentine
Chilean
Peruvian
Brazilian
Czech
German
Mexican
Swedish
Spanish
Yugo
Persian
Columbian
Turkish
Siamese

And probably a lot more that I have forgot. Pics would be helpful.

That's what I figured red blood. I'd let it go for prolly 30$ just because I don't really know of a good safe way to get it out of the way. Just no use for it.

I will give you the $50 for it plus pay shipping cost and $5 to TNdeer. I have built quite a these into sporting rifles and this sounds like a perfect candidate being it has already been molested beyond being collectible. PM sent
