You either have acorns in the area or competition plots near by. Just wait...when it everything else has been eaten and it gets cold, they will likely come to yours.

At least that's what I'm telling myself. My deer are only hammering 1 of 4 of my plots. The plot they chose is way back on my property adjacent to dense cover. And even still they are only there at night.

Yep my plots look the best they ever have. The deer usually wont let them grow but they are hammering acorns right now so in reality it is good that they are staying off the plots now.

I got the white tail imperial oats and they started hitting those as soon as they broke the soil.

They are hitting the rye grain plot but the corn and wheat/oats plots are being neglected. I keep telling myself that there is a lot of browse still in the woods due to such a wet year.

Muzzleloader season starts next week!

They're not hitting my plots much yet either. When the acorns play out they'll be here though.

Same here. Tons of acorns, and lush, untouched plots....More action later in the year!

They are having their fill of acorns right now. Have a couple of white oaks next to a plot and they gobble up the nuts and never touch the goodies in the plots. Soon as the acorns are gone ............ salad time for them.

Ive got tons of acorns, red, white, and chinquapins and the deer are hitting the oaks early and then hitting my plots mid morning. then they are hitting the plots again early evening before slipping up the ridges to the oaks. Its a weird pattern I have never dealt with, but I have enjoyed having so much day light movement. I am anxious to see how this pattern evolves as these leaves fall and the rut approaches.
