All you need is a Lab puppy about 6 months old.

Trust me.. I learned the hard way. \:\) Came home one day and has a solid 3ft x 3ft area where the carpet and padding were gone.

Cut it in 4 foot wide strips roll it up and haul it off
You do not need to take up the base boards.

The staples in the pad are the hardest part. I use pliers. Cut it close and add shoe mold. If you have time and can replace any base that breaks. When you put the base back it will need to be caulked which will lead to painting the wall as well as the base.

Start at a corner and pull lol..the tack strips are all around the baseboards u will need a pry bar or hammer for those. Like super8 said just cut it sections easy to carry out..I've done this more times than I care to remember. You don't need to take the base boards up maybe just the trim

You leave the laminate about 1/4" off the baseboard and when finished install shoe molding.

Dang, I am a rookie.

First what the heck, I thought the base board was the trim...

Second what in the heck is shoe molding? My cuts prob won't be perfect.

Baseboards for carpet are set higher than for laminate. You can leave it, just make sure you get 1/4 round big enough to cover the gap. If you don't do that you might end up needing to pull it. If you do pull the baseboard make sure and cut the caulk so you don't tear the paper on the sheetrock. Since the new baseboard will be set lower you will have a gap to top of the old baseboard line you pulled off, you can buy a taller baseboard to put down to cover the old caulk line.

You also cut the door jambs just enough with a jamb saw so the laminate fits under the door jambs.
