I'd take a look at Bushnell's 2007 top model the Trailscout Pro 5.0. It's @ $350.
Whatever you do, don't buy a Cuddeback No Flash.

Based on what I understand, this Bushnell takes 5.0 mp nightime images compared to the Cuddeback No Flash's blurry 1.7 mp nighttime images. The Cuddeback takes 3.0 mp daytime color images, while this Bushnell takes 5.0 mp daytime color images. Both seem to have comparable trigger times, although it appears the Bushnell might be a tad quicker.

P.S. This is the only Bushnell I'd consider, as there have been some problems with some of their prior, cheaper for a reason, versions. This particular model has gotten some good reviews.

Here's a link to it:

The reviews for this camera on Cabela's website are very low.

Footer,

Look at the Moultrie I40 units. They are getting very good reviews.

I just reviewed those ---- I agree they're pretty disappointing, and I'd be hesitant to buy one now.

I had read the reviews on this particular Bushnell cam from Chasing Game, and they gave it a pretty good review. Generally speaking, I'd place more stock in the Chasing Game reviews than from the average of four or five random purchasers --- some of whom may or may not have had legitimate complaints. The problem with those Cabela's review is there's simply not enough responses, and if only a couple give a bad review, even a good cam can have a bad "average" on the Cabela's reviews. Different story once it gets up to a large number of reviews (like over 20).

Right now, my best advise is to not get too gung ho on buying many trail cams this year. I believe by this time next year we will see substantial improvements in what's being offered along with lower prices. And I'd bet Bushnell's bugs get worked out.

Moultrie and Stealth sure have improved their unit quality in just a single year. I expect we will see further rapid advances in quality for the price in coming years from them and other manufacturers.
