I have learned many things in life but the most important thing is if you have an opportunity to buy a fire arm from some one that knows what they are doing buy it

lil joker years ago bought my cva optima after have a heck of a time with his ml and shotgun and slug. i sold it to him told him what to load and he listened and he killed a big buck that year

tim in tn had a mossberg 835 with a hastings .675 choke that loves winchester xx 3.5 2 oz number 6 i bought it i have killed toms at 54 57 and 63 yds it is bad to the bone

ewc had a smokless 50 cal savage that he killed a deer at 326 yds he told me what to load and i did and i killed several even had 2 tipples with it but i had no place to stretch it out so i sold it and now i have place to hunt with about 350yrd shots
go figure

greg aka sallee-bo bought the above ml and called me tonight saying he didnt know a ml could be so accurate

i was really regretting letting it go as my h&r .45 has been picky the short bbl really cuts the vel down
my groups with the 200 sst has been 2 shot close one flyer and not bad but around 1 inch groups and today it shot .8 so i thought id try some barnes 195
well they did much better loaded better shot better
i just wish there was more bullet choices

h&R 45/70 converted bbl
zeiss 3-9x40 tactical scope
63.4 gn h4198
measly 2444 fps avg
both sub .6 inch groups
and if you lay one over the other they all would cover each other

i got to find a longer bbl or something to get speed up

with the barnes i got the same speed give or take with 62 vs 63.8 h4198 the bbl was 22 before conversion so i figure it is about 20 inch bbl

Can't beat that. Looks like I'll be ordering some of those pills for my conversion.

How cold was it when you shot it? No duplex?

Maaaaan I am so glad Lade decided to sell his SS MLII. I have been muzzleloading ever since TN had a season and it seems like at best it's always been a pain in the rear-end. I had just bought a new breech plug for my Austin & Halleck to try some BH 209 When I saw Lade's add on here. I bought the gun and over the course of the summer I rounded up all of the things I would need, put good glass on it and shot it for the first time yesterday. Good Lord! I never dreamed a ML could be this accurate. I don't have pics (no digital camera) but if you were to take 3 round stickers the size of a .50 cal and stick one on paper, take the 2nd and put it 3/4 of the way on top of it at 3 o'clock and the 3rd one i/2 the way on top at 7 o'clock that is the group this gun shot. Sorry for the long rant but I'm just incredibly fired up for this season.Good luck this season and may God bless and keep you all safe.
