Do you flip your cornbread out of the skillet and call that the top... or do you simply leave it in the skillet and call that the top.

oops, been doing it wrong all these years!

I flip it out of the cast iron, then turn em back over after buttered.

I flip it out onto my plate. Bottom is already crispy when it comes out of the oven. That's the reason for having your cast iron piping hot before putting the batter in it.

Flip it out and then return the pone to the skillet and crust up the top. Extra crusty/crispy on both sides.

Flip it out. I don't care what you call either side, but I don't want to fool with a hot skillet when I am cutting my cornbread.

Well, I guess its just how you were raised. Now I feel bad for calling my mother in law lazy cause she just left it in the skillet... Either way its just goooood.
