Cut the top off an antifreeze jug and use the lower 2/3 to go in the main compartment of the saddlebag. It will keep the compartment expanded and prevent crushing of the contents while carrying your stand into/out of the woods.

I go to walmart and buy one of those little bitty fanny packs and zip tie it to the side of the stand cant carry as many things as a saddle bag but it still works. but I will for sure try the jug thing.

I love my saddle bags!
Do you have any noise from things in the bags hitting the plastic insert while walking??

If you are concerned about things rattling around inside the plastic, just stuff your face mask, gloves, or some other article of clothing in there too.

I did this to my API Bowhunter last week. I went one step further and picked up a grommet kit at harbor freight and cut the straps off and put grommets in the back of the packs and ran the zip ties through them. Turned out pretty good. I have another API i'm gonna do it to also.

I have a HS Strut fanny pack that I believe would work amazingly well. Believe I will try that.

This thread got me thinking about doing the same thing so I don't have to reach around me if there is something I need to get from my pack. I had 2 trout weir bags that I've never used so I cut off the straps, punched holes near the top and secured one to each side rail of my stand! Can't wait to try them out.
