What do you guys do with your climber stand, I have always worried about leaving mine at the bottom of a tree because of spooking a big buck, so I'm always hauling it in and out of the woods. Just curious to see what your experience is if you do leave yours.

I leave mine occasionally. Never on public land unless I'm leaving at dark and coming in the next morning. I've been tempted to a few times. Even if I do leave it on private land I cable lock it to the tree. Paranoia I guess.

I have left mine on private with and without a cable lock. I have on public over night, but only with a cable lock.

I have had a few climbers hanging on my private land since 2000 (in trees that suited their use best). The deer have never seemed to pay that much attention to them. I have also left climbers and ladders on public land for anyone to use (luckily no one has tried when I have been there). I did have one taken but it had been there for a couple years before it was taken so it served its purpose for me.

I used to until I had two stolen, In the same hunting season, On private land, On different lands at that, several miles from each other. I was the only one with permission to hunt.

Happend several years ago and everytime I think of it makes me sick. A summit viper and an Ol' man vision.

I carry my climber in and out every time. Several years ago, I would occasionally leave it overnight. It always bothered me that it would not be there when I walked in.

As for spooking Big Bucks, I feel leaving them at the base of the tree can do just that.
