Lighter and Mossys don't mix well....your shoulder is probably already cussing you—as is your foot already kicking your behind! LOL

I have an 835 with a 28" barrel. It has serious range.

Do any of you have the 835 with the recoil reduction system?

I have this recoil pad http://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/s...3194-47902.aspx and my shoulder. You won't notice the kick when that gobbler drops.

I also have the 935. Shooting a rhino and nitros. It will be hard to beat it for pattern and it doesn't kick all that bad. A lil heavier than my old 870 but lighter than my bps. I've heard good things about the 535 but I think the 835 is best for the money.

I have a sims recoil pad on mine. It helps some but still kicks like a mule. You never notice it though when staring down the barrel at a big red head.

Correct, have the inside of the barrel polished by a gunsmith.

Chrmayo is dead on.
An 835/935 with a Rhino 690 shooting the triplex Nitro loads, you will have the best killing machine know to man. Certainly put a limbsaver pad on your gun, makes a huge difference. One more thing, you had better use a scope with this combination because under 30 yards its so tight you will miss a bird easily.

a 670 after market choke will generally out shoot the factory choke by a lot, the most important thing you can do is polish the barrel and get n after market choke and generally 3 or 3.5 magblends is the ticket, every 835 I have used or patterened has loved the 670 jellyhead

The Jellyheads are the only tube I've seen in an 835 that patterns well at all, 670 is TIGHT for the larger bore of the 835/935 barrels. Most of the heavy shells 2-1/4 oz stuff needs more room or you risk over constricting the load and getting bounce which will blow your pattern apart. 680, 690 and even 700 for the big stuff, especially Nitro shells.
