x2 I have found mine really likes the primos jelly head and mag blends 3.5

Jellyhead and Magblends have been my best combo for my 935. As stated, the 935 is the semi-auto brother to the 835.

My 835 turkey came with the short barrel and a factory turkey choke. I shoot the Winchester 3.5" shells that are $50 per box. The gun is a killing machine. I also have an Indian River choke that patterns equally well. I have taken turkey at 50 yards and beyond.

a 670 after market choke will generally out shoot the factory choke by a lot, the most important thing you can do is polish the barrel and get n after market choke and generally 3 or 3.5 magblends is the ticket, every 835 I have used or patterened has loved the 670 jellyhead

Out of my 835 using 3" magblends, the jellyhead only had 146 pellets and some wide gaps in the circle, and the Tru-Glo SSX had 174 pellets and no wide gaps—all the more reason to try several different chokes and loads because every gun in the same model will shoot differently.

I really like the 535 turkey thug because it's lighter and comes with the pistol grip but I can't find any suggestions on what anyone uses to give it a good pattern.

I have had both. I limited out this spring with a 535, shooting a factory choke and 3.5'' #5 winchester supremes. shot 2 over 50yards. I prefer the 835, its a little heavier, slightly better pattern, once again I just used factory choke. the 535 with 3.5" shells will jar your eye teeth, real light. my wife bought me a benelli sbe II for my bday, got a rhino .670 choke and now i'm shooting nitro's. we'll see if it's worth it come spring.

that is true, but jelly head is normally a safe place to start with mossy or a pure gold 670 just stating my experience with 835 for the last 15 years
