from my brother finally, then went to shoot it. It was unfired when I sold it to him, with the condition that he sell it back to me when he decided to ever sell it...and he did. He had sighted it in, and was ready to get something else, so I got it back and went to shoot. Here's my first two shots at 100 yds, just to the left of center, then after an adjustment, two more on the money. This was with a, less than steady, rest on the bipod. I think this is gonna be a good'un. Factory 55gr ammo btw.

I plan to clean it up and then see what kind of MOA it can really shoot in a week or so.

Tell us more about the gun. Looks like she's gonna be a shooter.

As far as I am concerned the 22-250 is the best shooting cartage there is. I need to get mine out soon.

It is a very accurate cartridge. I only wish the so-called standard twist rate was a lot faster than 1 in 14. 60 grain's is about as heavy a bullet you can use unless you have a faster twist rate.

Mine is a Browning A-Bolt and with 60 grain Nosler Partitions I am getting phenomenal accuracy and FPS, over 3600 with Hodgdon superformance max load off the web site.

I bought my daughter a 22/250 a few years back as her first center fire. Loaded some 60 grain partitions for it over some AA 2015 and its a shooter. Love that little 799 mini Mauser.

yeah the 22-250 is pretty easy to load for,,Savage has started making them with a 9 twist but I would rather have a 7 or maybe a 6.5 twist, some of the newer 77-90 gr VLD bullets should really come to life ,
I would really like to see how the 80 AMax and 90 gr SMK`s would do at range cranked out about 31-3200

You could say the 22-250 is the magnum of the 22 world. My best load is the ol stand by 38 gr. of H-380 and a 55 gr. Sierra HPBT.

My Nosler book had load data for 22-250 shooting the heavier bullets and the barrel with twist was in the spec's section. I am not home or I would know for sure.....Off I go to Noslaer's site Back soon I hope

Okay, online they are using a 1 in 8 twist Wiseman barrel for 60 grain partitions, which I shoot in my 1 in 14 twist rifle, no keyholing or angled POI. Off to Hornady.

No information on the web at Hodgdon Hornandy, Nosler on shooting heavier than 70 grain bullets. Might get back later if I can get some concrete info.

It's just one of those cheap Axis Savage's... 12 twist is what the specs say. ;\)
