There are not as many walleye in there now as there were years ago. There has also been some walleye die the past few weeks. We saw 4 or 5 dead a few weeks ago. There was a buddy of mine that talked to Danny Stone (TWRA creel guy) at Dale Hollow this past weekend and said that he found 23 in one day floating. It is apparently due to very low oxygen levels at the deeper depths and happening all at once. I guess that is one of the reasons that the bass stayed shallow all summer long while night fishing. I don't think that I caught a fish all summer over 15' deep, and it used to not be uncommon to catch them 25'+ especially during August.
I pray to fish until my dying day. When it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, when in the Lord's safe landing net & I'm at peace that in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.
