That wasn't you fishing by the saddle dam was it? Saw somebody that looked like they were throwing a jig.

FH,
Ever catch any walleyes by accident or on purpose?

I want to try and figure out how to catch my first one on Center Hill.

PM me if you don't want to discuss on an open forum.
Thanks.

I was up on the top of the saddle dam in a orange Kubota checking some instrumentation. Small world.

I am a engineering tech in soils and dam safety. I check all of those instruments spread out between the main dam and saddle dam. Do inspections and instrumentation inside the dam, and a lot of other random things that come up. The project wont be finished anytime soon. It all depends on a lot of factors as to exactly when. When your drilling that deep into a earthen embankment you never know what sort of problems/delays that you can run into.

They were still biting exceptionally well of the night the weekend before last. We had a tournament on that Saturday night and absolutely smoked the smallmouth. It was one of the funnest nights that I have had in a long time down there. It was a good way to close out the night season and then get ready for deer season. The only bad part is after that night I wasn't ready for it to end. \:\)

From Holmes to the bridge is pretty good walleye area. try trolling crawler rigs and little demons.

There are not as many walleye in there now as there were years ago. There has also been some walleye die the past few weeks. We saw 4 or 5 dead a few weeks ago. There was a buddy of mine that talked to Danny Stone (TWRA creel guy) at Dale Hollow this past weekend and said that he found 23 in one day floating. It is apparently due to very low oxygen levels at the deeper depths and happening all at once. I guess that is one of the reasons that the bass stayed shallow all summer long while night fishing. I don't think that I caught a fish all summer over 15' deep, and it used to not be uncommon to catch them 25'+ especially during August.
