I just started some seeds in starter trays, should i let them grow thru winter near my window? Or do they need to lose their leaves by putting them outside?

I am not exactly sure what you are asking, but the seeds have to be cold stratified. You can plant them after they start to germinate, spring,

I called a tree nursery, he said it was fine to start them now, just leave them indoors till spring.
