Alright, about that time. Last year we had the "view from the stand" thread: http://www.tndeer.com/tndeertalk/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2970946&page=0&fpart=1

Take a picture of the view from your stand, blind, etc, or even just random photos from the deer woods. Post it up. Last year, I kept all of the photos in a folder in my phone. Its pretty cool to be able to scroll back through every hunt from the 2012 season.

First this year too! \:D

Saturday evening

Friday evening (cell phone through binoc pic at 15 yards). I had pictures of that buck in July. I had pulled my cameras off this property to scout another farm and just hunted this stand after work before the rain started. He ate that salt/mineral concoction for about 10 minutes.

The clearing to the left is a corn field on the Hatchie Refuge. Back to the right is a bean field......actually directly behind me 30 yards, this view is to my right when I am in the stand.

This is private land that borders the Refuge. The line is about 50-75 yards or so from my stand location....Mostly thick with cane mixed in , but it opens up more back the other way .....

A new location for me...looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone!!!

Deer use this trail throughout my place. I bushhohgged about a mile and a half of trails back here. Turns out the deer find it convenient...

Opening morning ridgeline set up. It is a very narrow, ridge line full of mature oaks dropping acorns like rain!

Old logging road down a ridge that has a bunch of good, trails running through it.

This is a view from my "honey hole." It's in the corner if a property surrounded on all sides by about 300 yards of standing corn. They just started cutting it Tuesday and stopped for rain. They got the little field by a thicket and pond cut which is where I saw all my big deer last year. I didn't see any deer last night, but I left a camera. I can't wait to check it!

Monday, Oct 7th. Went to an area of public land planning to freelance a afternoon hunt based on sign. -wasn't much sign at all. I found acorns and persimmons, but no deer droppings at all. Anywhere. I walked out to this cornfield, which must have been planted late. Wasn't much sign around it, so I just finally decided to setup off the corner on an old road. -didn't see anything.

Here's a couple of stand views from this morning's hunt. It was epic early season conditions and I saw decent deer traffic but the wind came out of the complete opposite direction than forecasted and the traffic pattern was across the ridge line about 50-75 yards from my tree. Couldn't get anything to move my way. There's always next time

I always think this tree looks like a tuning fork when I spend hours staring at it \:\)

Sitting in an oak next to 2 oaks with several more oaks behind me. All are chinkapin and all have acorns on the ground. Jumped a deer maybe off the bed when I stopped to pick a tree. Wind is opposite of what weather app says, so I'm hoping for a little luck

My view from Sunday morning. Just hung this set Saturday. Its about a 3 acre field that gets real narrow on one end. Got a creek behind me and a corn field across the creek. In front i have a big ridge full of acorns. About 40 yards in front of me is where my cousin fell last thurs. We were attempting to put this stand where another hang on was.

Front

Right

Left

Little ravine runs parallel on left for natural funnel, 60 yards to the front it drops off into a little holler that you always have to watch for them coming up out of, and clear shooting lane on another trail on my right. Pretty sweet set-up. Got 3 deer from this stand last year, and one today!

Oct 25th. I hit up this beautiful, hard wood ridge that sits tucked away in the back corner of a WMA. It has a commanding view once the leaves come down. -saw several deer between 9:30 and 11 am. A couple of them had just come out of the water and were soaking wet with steam coming off of them. -might have to hit this spot again during Mzl.

This is a grass field over looking my salt lick. Took this pic just messing around and sent it to my cousin because im always telling him how comfortable my bone collector hang on is. As i was doing this had a 130" 10pt step out to my left and was thrashing trees and checking scrapes. Few mins later had a 100" 8pt feeding in my food plot right out from me.

Nov 2nd. Inside corner of a pasture with acorns dropping. I saw a number of does here. They came in, fed and bedded down for awhile and then, about 10:30, got up and started running around chasing each other like they were playing tag or something.

Nov 9th. Hatchie Quota hunt. This is a transition zone between the open hardwoods and a big slough. Very thick with chest high grass and few climbable trees. I climbed 40 feet high so that I could see down into the trails and bedding holes. Saw 4 deer, but was not able to get a shot as it was just too thick.

Nov 10th. Hatchie quota hunt. After jumping a mature buck bedded down in the middle of this dry slough on the afternoon before, I built a natural ground blind. This is rabbit habitat, no climb able trees at all. Tons of sign: fresh tracks, well worn trails, fresh scrapes, every available cypress knee and sapling have been rubbed on.... Didn't see a thing.

Nov 15th. Up on the TN river in Benton county. -came in blind on 80 acres of hardwoods. Aerials didn't give much to focus on, so I went for this 1/2 acre grown up spot. Lots of scrapes around the edges. I setup next to an old, homemade stand.

Here's a couple from the stand when we had a skiff of snow Monday before Thanksgiving. Shot(I think) a nice 8pt and couldn't find a trace of a hit on him that eve. \:\(
