Vanderbilt Medical Center to make more job cuts

0 0 0 New

The Associated Press

Vanderbilt University Medical Center was expected to cut several hundred more jobs this week as part of a plan to eliminate more than 1,000 positions by the end of the year.

The Tennessean ( reports the latest round of layoffs is part of the medical center's plan to cut $250 million from its $3.3 billion operating budget over the next two fiscal years.

About 300 people were laid off earlier this summer, but that round of cuts did not count toward the final tally of cut jobs, which Vanderbilt has reported will be 1,033.

The latest eliminations were expected to start as early as Tuesday.

I assume we are the same generation and I agree with you 100%. The only good thing I have personally witnessed is low intrest rates, but that is not really a good sign.

I dont think alot of the hospitals in smaller communities will survive. An ER doc the other day said he didn't expect ours to make it.

I am afraid that IS the plan. IF all the small providers are gone, and Obama care is the main source of revenue for the ones that are "Too Big To Fail" then in effect you end up with a Government Run System and never have to call it that. Just like we now have a Government Run Banking and Auto industry.

Socialism by Acclimatization. OR "One Bite At a Time!"(as in "How do you eat an elephant?")

That was the point of "bailing out" the banking and auto industries. Set the precedence. Let them pay the government back, even if it is with the government's own money, then hold that little experiment up to the American people and say, "See it does work!" Then do the same for an industry that is about 1/3 of entire economy and then the hook is set, the people have been subjugated and all you have to do is publish a little propaganda about how "Better Off We All Are!" Have you your political allies in the media (Prositutes) verify your assertions and those subjects you have disarmed (literally and figuratively) will have no choice but to conform or be crushed.

Neat little package, and IT HAS BEEN DONE BEFORE.
