We just checked the plots on the farm. I mowed them down during the "first" drought back in early July and not a dang thing grew back. I guess if we get some rain the weeds could shoot up, but as of now I'm not even going to have to break out the rotary cutter before we disc them up.
No dead deer found. Lots of traffic around the river though. We're lucky to have a river and several creeks running through the property. At least they have water.

You may have a honey hole this year Trapper. I am making this statement on what I have seen out west. Where I deer hunt in Wyoming, which has much less annual rain fall than Tennessee, deer travel to the creek bottoms where the feed is more plentiful and greener than in the hills. Sometimes you need to adapt to the situation at that time.
