How are ya'll zeroing in your smokeless muzzleloaders to shoot out to 200yds and beyond? How high are you at 100, 200, etc?

Personally I'm zero at 100. However I'll probably never have a situation over 150 anywhere. 99% around 80 yards or less.

If you are in the 2200-2400fps arena, then I would zero at 170. That is 1" high at 50, 3.5" high at 120 and 3.5" in low at 200.
That's a 7" point blank range out to 200 yards.

Another option is if you have a rifle scope that has multi reticles for 200 zero, 300, 400, 500. With that scope, you can zero at 100 and use the second reticle for 200 because a 30-06 zeroed at 200 has approx the same drop at 300 as your muzzleloader does at 200.

I like the first option better because I don't have to think about hold overs or choose which reticle to use. Just aim center mass and squeeze ...

I would personally go ahead and buy 4198 in either H or IMR. That powder should work well in the savage and the apex. Kill 2 birds with one stone \:\)
