I had never heard of this till watching some YouTube vids on recurve bows . Looks like a lot of fun but don't you or wouldn't you lose a lot of expensive arrows ??

pick your target with a back stop or open enough to find your arrows. use bright fletching ( pink on mine).lighted nocks help too. use a judo or blunt type point. I use ACE hex heads(small game heads) that weigh the same at my BHs and FPs (175gr) and carbon arrows (from walmart, strip the plastic and add feathers). pick rotten stumps, branches on ground, etc when possible. ditch banks, tree root balls that still have dirt on them are good targets. I hunt a swamp so some times there are trash items in the ditches from high water. occasional shots at squirrels on the ground. best I have done there it fur on my heads.

Its a fun way to get in some practice, habit forming, makes a good way to unravel after work.

If I only had one method of practice hands down it would be roving and stump shooting with a Judo point.
