Anyone know of a WMA that is just loaded with rabbits? Id like to find a place where my dogs can run their hearts out. Preferably on swampers! Id take a little vacation if there is such a place!

Hatchie Refuge. 13,000 acres of flooded sloughs and swamp rabbits as big as they come. Bring hip boots and be in good shape. Not many people rabbit hunt there because its tough terrain due to the amount of water in the Spring. Your hips will be sore for days, but it sure is fun.

Check Tellico lake, not sure of the regs there, but looks like a great place for rabbits.

I looked up Hatchie and Tellico. I couldn't find a map on Hatchie and Id say Tellico is sowed up by the beagle field trialers in that area.

Hatchie is a federal Refuge: http://www.fws.gov/hatchie/

Look up Brownsville TN on Google Maps and then look to the South. The Boundaries are on Google. The widest part of the refuge has the most sloughs and swamp rabbits.

If you end up heading to Hatchie this Winter, hit me up. I rabbit hunt a lot out there in Jan & Feb and can give you a heads up on the water levels. -conditions change quickly.

Here are some pics from rabbit hunting on the refuge.

Lots of water crossings

Some of them can test your manhood when its cold.

Sometimes, you just end up getting wet.... and cold.

What you think? reckon there is a rabbit or two hiding in there. There are literally miles of these sloughs. Sometimes they have water, sometimes they are dry. Regardless, they are always a workout to walk through.

Ol' swamp rabbit. Frigid day. Endless thickets.

In MS, I had the best luck jumping swamp rabbits when places like your fourth pic flooded. The rabbits would move to the edges where the water was just a few inches with brushy high spots that were dry.

I'll definitely hit you up to go around the first of the year. You,rabbit hunter and I should plan on it. My buddy and me together have about 10 hard hitting fast gundogs that I bet would get them on the move. I bet they could really run good in those areas you have pictures of.
