A friend of mine has a dove field and there has been some geese using it is it legal to hunt over top sown wheat?

Hmm.....well the rule is if a warden can come out there and find ANY wheat laying or just under the surface of the ground it is considered baiting. But if it is a wheat field then that is a different story. But it is a touchy subject. I would consult a local game warden on that one.

Where is that rule? I'm pretty sure it's allowed so long as its a normal agricultural practice.

it was spread by tractor and spreader by laps on the field and not just hammering the good spots if that's what you guys are meaning my normal I have seen some dang thick dove fields and this isn't like that

I just checked with the Feds to confirm. It would be illegal to hunt geese on that field.
