We double the normal recommended planting amounts for big seed (wheat, oats, rye) for this very reason, and always cover it. These seeds can stand to be an inch or more deep. Sow the small seed (clover, turnips, brassica) on top RIGHT IN FRONT OF RAIN. Turkeys will get some but not all.

I use a drag harrow to cover and never have a serious problem. you only need the 4x4 to cover not this 6x8 as shown.....they are fantastic, and I wouldn't be without one! Tractor supply sells this one and it is awesome

Hey drrxnupe - too bad you live so far from your farm. That must be hard sometimes.

I'm fortunate to live on mine, but when leaving for work in the mornings, I tell my wife that I feel like a fool leaving all that to go work indoors all day. It is even worse this time of year- dark when I leave, dark when I get home. Sometimes I go for a walk in the AM if I have at least a half-moon.

Back to topic - I guess this Saturday we can thin out those turkeys a little if they will cooperate. Sound like some of you will be using white plastic bag camo.

It does suck but I am so thankful to have it. I have family members that live on the property but they can give a rat's u know what about hunting. Having 3 cellular cams on my food plots does help just tab bit.
