Those are interesting. Never seen those before. Somethings got to give saw some new holes and mounds today leaving the house but have yet to see the culprit for an opportunity.

Knew a farmer that would fill up a large water tank with water and drive around his field edges and fill the holes with water. He had a dog that would sit on the tractor fender. When the ground hog came running out the dog would jump off and go kill it. Worked for him.

When I was a kid, I would cut up a few apples and scatter them near the holes in the late afternoon. After doing this every other day or so for a week, I would wait about 20yds off behind a wooden fence about two hours before sunset with my 22lr. I usually didn't have to wait long for them to come out.

I know that chemicals and such are illegal (by those of us not liscenced and contracted out by the government) but according to the region office I talked to since the fellow I killed em for had livestock break a leg in their hole it was not a problem to use smoke bombs. Now whether I was told correctly or not who really knows. All I can really tell ya is it worked and no more cows with a broke leg.
