Simple curiosity: How many cameras are you running per area of land? So that we can compare apples to apples please respond with the N = acres/cameras.

Example: I currently have 6 cameras on 600 acres so N = 100.

How many you got?

For baited camera censuses, N = 160 acres (one camera per quarter square mile) is sufficient.

For unbaited camera censuses (no bait to draw deer to the camera), I don't feel comfortable above N = 80 to 100 acres. Basically, for a 1,000-acre property, I want at least 10 to 12 cameras to get a reliable census during the hunting season (unbaited).

Currently a camera for every 25 acres, however im not dealing with any large tracts at all right now. When I deal with a large tract of land 2 cams per 100 acres is the goal.

N=6. Small property, so I have a camera on east and west lines.

N=4 for the same reason. With limited time in Tennessee, I try to make it count as best I can, plus, being near a subdivision, I like knowing which side of the ridge they are on the most at varying times of the day.

N=25 here. We hunt several 50 acre farms, in which we run 2 cameras each. You would be surprised how many times we'll get tons of pics of a deer on one camera, and absolutely none of him on another just a ridge away.
