Is anyone using one on their coverts? It looks like with a simple twist it would just break the plastic. I know if someone wants it bad enough they will get it but I'm just wondering if its worth getting a python.

I use them on my coverts. It will help keep an honest person honest. I REALLY wish the covert case locked like a primos ultra with the cable completely locking the door shut.

Yeah it will be good to have for just a little insurance. I agree though they should have at least made that piece solid metal.

Have pythons on my brownings, but wish they looped through the fronts as well. Someone can come up and take my card and pricey batteries even with the cable on it. wah wah

I know this will sound crazy, but I actually want my card accessible even when the cable is on. First, detaching long python cables from camera after camera is a pain in the butt, and the disturbance can knock a carefully aligned camera out of alignment (the straps never hold the camera tight enough). And second, for thefts on private property (which is the only place I would ever considering placing cameras) most camera thefts do not occur because the thief wants the camera, it is because they are trying to hide their trespassing onto private property. If the card is accessible, even when the camera is python-locked, perhaps the thief will just steal the card and not the camera. I would rather lose an $8 card and a week's pictures than a $200 camera.

BSK...always the voice of reason and sensibility. I guess i shouldn't complain about something so petty. At least my first camera runs an 8mg card and not 35mm film haha

At the very least it would cause a thief to end up with a broken cased camera. Kinda suspicious I would think when trying to pawn. ;\)

My cams have been stolen outright each time, and they were just strapped on with the factory nylon straps, no locks. Just sorry thieves period.
