So I was scaning craigslist jobs about a week ago and came across one I was interested in,emailed them my qualifications and number to be reached at.Well they called me yesterday and gave me the in's and out's of the job and what it paid, and then we set up a interview for Thursday at 11am.He said the job is on Hardin valley rd in knoxville but they'll be conducting the interview in Powell.

I thought no biggie,I'll be there. He gave me the address, and this morning I typed in the address he gave me and it is Starbuck's address in Powell..LOL So I call him back this morning to confirm I have the right address and he said yea,I guess I forgot to mention we'll be conducting the interview at starbucks, and that the actual business is ran out of the owners home. This is starting to have SCAM red flags written all over it for me.I'm thinking this is a Scam to get perssonal information from me.What do you guys think? Right now I don't think im going to that interview.

My last job interview was at a restaurant in downtown Memfrica. And the one before that was in the lobby of the Marriot.

No scams there.....except that one job turned out to be the shatiest person I have ever worked for.

If you ran a business out of your home then would you want strangers you didn't know home with you alone in your house or would you rather meet in a safe public place both for your and their safety? I don't sense scam. If they start asking for ss# and stuff like that then tell them to take a hike.

I don't see an issue with it. Lots of interviews occur at public places like that. I would actually feel more comfortable doing it at Starbucks than the guy's house.

Just don't interview in a hotel room after midnight... should have thought something was up when he was wearing leather chaps and a gag...

Try looking up the business on the web and using the Better Business Bureau Ratings. Another resource is Angie's List. Theres also SCAM websites around too. Google the business name with scam or ripoff after it and see what comes up.

Easier way to get folks personal information than that. Make the meeting, enjoy the coffee, and evaluate the job opp.

Can't find them on the BBB's website, and nothing really shows up online when searched..This is about the only thing that comes up on them.I've applied for a building supervisor position.

I interviewed for a job in a Starbucks one time. What'll it hurt to try out?

My interview was for a small company, and the guy basically worked out of his truck. Legit job, legit company. You never know until you try. One question to ask will be for references for his customers.

I have worked for a business that was ran out of a home it was all on the up and up. Just feel it out. It is hard to see how it can be a scam.
