Couldnt help but notice post from sevral one here who seem to have answers & sevral who seem to have the questions (<<my category), figured I would ask who has what kind of back ground when it comes to health & fitness.

Are you the kind who have been at it for years & can do a tri marathon when you want or have been educated in H&F, had basic success with weight loss & exercise, know that cheese burgers & colas are bad & constantly fall off the wagon just so it can run over you (ME !!)

Just curious, nothing more than that.

I'm a self-described food know-it-all. I've recently begun running for recreation, after a long bout with mixing my 20's with a sedentary lifestyle. My fitness goals are simple....exercise to be fit, and eat real food. I have no training, no background, and no success. But I'm working towards all three with a little internet research and trial & error.

Really been into endurance type activities for twenty years. Have been in better shape but still try to manage diet and keep good cardio base. No expert but can help with cycling related questions. Have had success racing in a couple diffrent types of cycling disciplines.

I've been fat for 30 years. In the recent past I have lost 100 lbs. and finished several 5ks and a sprint Tri. If I could continuosly put into action all that I have learned I would be in much better shape. Knowing and doing are entirely different things.

Been in and out the gym for 20 years. Up and down in weight and fitness. Been fighting a losing battle since getting injured. Was up to 325 pounds at 6'4.

Married a woman with a bachelors degree in athletic training and a doctorate in physical therapy. She has the skills... I just do what she says because it's obvious I was going at it all wrong. It took me a couple years to give in but since July I've lost 30 pounds... Even with her being pregnant and bringing peanut butter home. It's my only weakness.

NEVER fitness minded at a young age, married at 24 and became a Gym Junky soon after. Even then I was ALL about lifting more weight and not about overall fitness. After the 1st of 2 boys I stopped the gym - coached baseball, basketball, football and was busy at work as well - all the while going from a very muscular 6' 205lb frame to a fat 280lb frame over the course of about 20 yrs. Jumped in the gym about 3.5 yrs ago - 280 to 215 - P90X 215 to 188 then off a year busy with one of my boys health issues but back now at 220 and pushing hard with a goal of 190. Trying to focus more on really eating healthy and improving my cardio - since if I'm at the gym resistance is a given for me as it's what I enjoy.

My background is in martial arts, and I use the techniques and sparring to stay in shape. Believe it or not, I have found it to be much easier on my body than other activities like running. I was also a competitive swimmer, and use that background in my workouts. Those activities along with the fact that I teach anatomy and physiology help me to understand what my body is doing.

I was a general manager of a fitness center for a couple years. I learned a lot in those 2 years just being in the fitness business. Looking into getting my personal training qualifications just to do it on the side, but my wife tells me if I am going to go back to school it better be for a career. Not for a "side job".
