With college football starting up one thing that has always seemed odd to me is how many fans there are of (insert your favorite team here) that seem so rabid and passionate about "their" team but have never ever been to see a game. If they're so passionate about them then why not ever go see them in person? Not picking on Alabama because they have a lot of bandwagon fans at the moment but I work with a couple of people who spew Bama this and Bama that but yet have never once seen them play live. I'm talking they wear crimson every day and have Bama stuff on their desks and vehicles and probably couldn't find Tuscaloosa with a roadmap and GPS. Again every team has fans like this. Am I the only one that thinks this is odd?

i have been to quite a few pro and college games. i prefer the nfl over college but like both. even though i get some great free tickets from clients on occassion, i prefer to watch on TV. Just enjoy the game sitting in front of big screen out in th esticks than being smothered by 80,000 folks i dont know

I like Bama. I can find my way to Tuscaloosa. I've never been to a game, but then I haven't been to a Vols game. Or a Memphis Tigers game in a LONG time.

I watched Bama in 2005, during Mike Shula's year. I had an interest in them then. Then when Saban became coach, I really got interested, seeing as how he led LSU to a National Championship.

I like Bama, but I also like Arkansas, Florida, and Tennessee (somewhat). I don't bleed the team colors or anything. I don't take it all that seriously. I like too many teams to be devoted to one team.

Same for the NFL. I like the Titans, but I like other teams as well.

Same here. There's no line at the bathroom in my house, it's clean, and there's plenty of food and drinks that don't cost an arm or a leg. \:\)

When I was younger, I went to a number of Alabama games in the 80's at Legion Field. If anyone remembers when Tennessee got slapped on the wrist for players selling their tickets, I was one that used some of those. Nothing like setting among the vol parents. Never had a problem with any of them or them with us. We knew better than to make fools of ourselves and we did respect the fact that these were player's parents.

As an aging old fart, I don't enjoy crowds at all, regardless of the occasion. I'd rather watch a game at home where I don't have to wade through other people's urine to take a leak or see some drunk college kid hurl because he or she can't handle alcohol.

I understand its much cheaper and comfortable to stay at home and watch it from your favorite chair as that's what I do most of the time these days. Had season tickets at UT from 96 thru 2001 if I remember correctly but kids changed all of that so now I try to make one a year. What I'm talking about is the rabid fan that to talk to them you'd think they and their entire family graduated from there. The ones who are constantly running their mouth about their team and can't name one player.

I make most all the Ole Miss home games and we go to at least one away game every year.

I've seen Alabama play twice in Tuscaloosa. Unless I get some tickets within the first 50 rows I will not go back. I simply cannot see the football if I have to sit in the nosebleed section.

I will make the trip to east Tennessee the next time Ole Miss plays Tennessee. I've never seen the stadium and look forward to seeing it.

I expect a lot of folks don't go to games because of the cost.

We went to the Ole Miss Vandy game Thursday nite.
Fuel to Nashville and back......$80.00
2 tickets to game...............110.00 excluding taxes and fees.
2 nites hotel cost .............300.00
Hitting the clubs and bars and restaurants Wednesday evening and Thursday before the game........300.00.
So were looking at around $800 to watch a football game out of town.
And here it is Saturday nite and my middle aged butt is still tired.

exactly the way I feel. Add the fact that if you take a family of four you're going to spend $200 easy at a game.
