How much trouble is it to convert Remington 700 ADL to BDL.I'm guessing you have to change stock and get hinged floor plate assembly, but not sure and would appreciate any guidance.

Stock, magazine box, floorplate assembly, magazine spring, all available at Brownells or Midway USA

You could also change it to a drop magazine as well. Get a DM stock, bottom metal and magazine. All of this is available on EBAY. You can get some good deals on this sometimes on ebay but the closer you get to hunting season, the higher the price in general.

Kwick-Klip also makes a conversion kit that will fit a bdl stock. you can get four round or ten round clips. think its for standard long action calibers and mabe 7mag also.

You can find the parts for a short action much easier than a long action.

I have wanted to do this for years and the net price was just way more than the functionality it provided. Besides that, with my handloads I might have run into length issues, like I did with my 300.(that's how I rationalized not going ahead with the conversion)

If you do it, how about a blow by blow description with pic's and your total outlay?

Stock, bottom metal and mag box are all thats needed. Spring and follower can be used from the adl (mag box can be reused as well as long as you trim it down).
