I'm 50/50 on this one. Most times I prefer to hunt alone but over the years I've usually had one or maybe two at the most serious hunting buddies. The properties I hunt are usually not big enough to allow more than that and have a serious hunt. The older I get though, the more I prefer to hunt alone. Now my seven year old daughter likes to go with me on occasion and I love that....

Same thing me and my cousin do. Meet up at the barn, seperate, text all morning about Hardees and the little deer we see, go eat hardees, come back and hunt til dark, head home in opposite directions. It sounds dumb, but it is so much more fun this way we rarely hunt if the other one isn't. If he isn't hunting I go to one of my other farms that isn't nearly as good hunting.

To add to that, sorry guys, on draw hunts on WMA's I like hunting with buddies and sitting around the campfire and acting like kids and cutting up. That's what I call my social hunts. Not that I Dont take the hunt seriously cause I do. These type of hunts for me anyway are best enjoyed with friends and family.

it's nice to have someone nearby but I do not ride with them or let them ride with me, unless they have no other way. I tend to stay much longer than most hunters I know..lol.

Alone. you dont have to worry if your hunting buddy is where they should be or you dont have to wait on anybody to wake up and get ready.

Back when I was hard-core about my hunting, I hunted alone most of the time.

Now that I'm more of a social hunter, I rarely hunt alone. Hunting with family, and sharing stories back at camp, is what it is all about for me now.

I prefer to only hunt when I'm by myself or with somebody. \:\)

If you and a friend leave camp, walking in opposite directions, are you hunting with a buddy or hunting alone?

As to just what I prefer, depends on the circumstances and the buddies. I'm usually on stand by myself, and usually have one or more friends also on a stand within a mile or so, with our knowing where each other is hunting.

Anymore, I'm never actually alone....I (shamefully) text back and forth as to what my friends all over Tn are seeing. \:\) This did, however, nearly cost me a deer last season, as I was turning off my phone, and actually got busted by a doe that had slipped in from behind me in the fog. Live and learn...hopefully. \:D

I have a few good friends I'll hunt with sometimes though not to many people has a third of their season off for vacation so not to many puts the time in I do around here I know. I hate having to walk someone who you take with you to a spot or when their late showing up. Couple of my buddies and I will hunt 30yrds apart or closer in bow season. It's fun to watch each other shoot one and laugh and make hand signals to each other. Really I don't care as long as I'm hunting to be honest. If it's my time to kill one then I will even if I'm with 20 people.

I actually didn't know how to answer for this reason. I always hunt alone (as in up a tree or in a blind) but either dad and/or brother are almost always up a tree somewhere else on the farm. We may walk in/out together but that's about it...we don't hunt "together."
