Ok, I am retired from the military, so I figure I can get on Fort Campbell, but it looks to be a pain in the butt to get registered and get on base and do some hunting. Do you think it would be easier just to drive up there and get everything I need done?

I'm kind of lost in this, I haven't ever hunted a military base and don't know anyone that has been to the Fort. Any help or pointers on how to get set up there would be appreciated. Do they make it look harder than it really is or what? Maybe it is just me being new to hunting a military base.

Yea I have all that, hunters safety, lifetime tn hunting license ect ect. I think I may just drive up there. From my experience it is hard to get stuff done on a military base by phone if you are a civilian.

It's best to do it all in person in one day. You have to register your guns in person anyways. Ask for Jamie at the rec office. He will take care of you.

Matt i would be happy to meet you and show you around most any weekend.Just PM me a few days ahead.
Its my understanding that you may be only to register guns through the week.JDP will know more on that.
It is confusing and indimataing for new comers. But worth the trouble if bigger bucks are what you are looking for.
Goood luck and let me know if i can help.

Before your first trip remember its Federal and no handguns allowed.Even with carry permit. Its easy to forget sometime when they are in the truck.
