I noticed at least two hickorys in the pic, do they produce heavily? If so, it could be a squirrel highway...

You could have allelopathy going on. Some plants suppress the growth of other plants. For example, black walnuts and pines suppress the growth of other plants around them. Tree of heaven does it too. There are many more, but those are all I can think of off the top of my head.

Allelopathic substace could be the cause. AKA chemical produce by plant that prevents any other competitive growth.

Exactly! Two major deer trails run right past this.
And no, not a single track (deer, turkey, raccoon), even after it had just rained. And no one has been camping.
I'll have to check the hickories.

Probably ghosts or spirits of some kind that show up late at night and dance in the woods. You may catch a glimpse of them when walking to your stand early in the morning before daylight. Don't waste your time on a trail cam. Ghost never show up on them. Good luck!
