Didn't want to hijack the other thread. I've been thinking about getting one too.

It seems you can get commercial grade slicers from about $100 - $3,000.

Most were in the $275- $800 range brand new.

Do ya'll recommend a 1/4 or 1/2 HP? I guess what i need to know is will the 1/4 HP get the job done?

I would want the 1/2 HP because I would like a large blade....

yeah i noticed that about the 1/4 HP slicers they had a 10" blade, but the 1/2 hp had 12" blade.

BC . I have a commercial hobart that I havent used in 2 years. its used but in excellent shape. If you are interested . you can email me at Trophyrock@juno.com . I can take a pic or two and email back to you tomorrow. Its the ones you see in the markets and will last a life time. Havent looked anywhere for similar and what they sell for but let me know if you want one that good. I'm figuring prob in the $350 range.
