I was wondering if anyone has used these. I was lurking in the other foot pain threads recently and have been wearing some new red wing boots with the extra heel inserts from wally world for about a month. It has helped a lot but still quite a bit of heel pain in the morning and some in the day. Soooo I am trying the exercises and am thinking about one of the slip on sock type or even the splint. Thanks

Let me know how they work. I trashed my left foot back in 2002 and still have pain off and on with it.

I've tried very insert on the planet, including $500 "custom" inserts. the Powersteps are the only ones that worked. I've been wearing them for 13 years.

Took me some time to get rid of it, but stretches and arch support insoles helped more than anything. Stretches that lengthen the calf and Achilles tendon are what help to relieve the pain and tightness. Try standing a few feet from a wall, keeping feet flat on the floor, and lean over to the wall for 10-15 seconds, stretching the calf and Achilles. Also try stretching your foot vertically against the wall while keeping the back of your heel on the floor.

A buddy of mine told me his doctor said to take a belt, put your foot over it, and gently pull back. Apparently it stretches the muscles, alot like EastTNHunter's method.

Yeah, I definitely notice a big difference when I stretch. One of my shortcomings in dealing with PF, however, is not stretching during hunting season because I am up so early. I feel like that deer season, wearing a pack and doing a lot of walking, especially in the cold, sometimes intense cold, really takes it toll on my injury. I need to buckle down and stretch at 3:30 in the morning or whatever time it is I get up to deer hunt.

I seen this last time and was a bit confused on which inserts to get, but I didn't have the boots I have now. Which ones do you use the Pinnacle Orthotic or the new Maxx? and are these supposed to be used instead of the shoe inserts mine are removable which I think would be more comfortable. I haven't started any stretching yet but I can see how it will help since the back of my leg has been very stiff, the frozen water bottle does wonders tho.
