I normally don't have a hit list or target certain bucks , but this year is an exception . This big boy is number one on my hit list for the Sept 15th opener . How about you guys , got a hit list ?

I can see why!

Mine:
This deer (along with the bigger ones I seen with him) is what I'll be after most in early bow season.

When rut activity shows up I'll move to this property

And these two are in a different area I will try to keep the pressure low on (big ten was alive and around 160 last year.. confirmed by neighbors pic) The velvet buck was 4.5+ last year, probably 6.5.

Then this guy

Nice bucks guys!! Corn is so expensive that I'm not even running my trail cams this year. And that is with my wife working at a seed/feed store with her discount.

But it don't matter anyway. I am on strict orders to "kill them all" by my folks this year. I hunt on their place most of the time, and am VERY picky with what I shoot over there. In the last several years hunting over there, I have killed two does...and passed a bunch of small bucks up. They always have told me to not kill many, to leave some for seed. But this year, they planted their garden 3x and didn't get any beans or anything out of it...the deer were in it non stop. So orders came down..."kill them all...cull nothing".

Crow , I have just been running my cams since July . I like to use Trophy Rocks instead of Corn . Keeps the number of coon pics. down , yet still a good attractant for deer .
There are a couple hundred acres of cornfields nearby these spots too . Good luck this year . Although I have a hit list this year for bucks , does are fair game too . I'm just going to have fun hunting , and if I'm blessed to get an opportunity at the big buck , it will be icing on the cake .

I've not had great success with Trophy Rocks. I won a whole truckload of them at one of the TnDeer Vous I went to...I had them coming to one spot pretty good where I would put a new rock out every now and then but for some reason, the local deer don't pay much attention to them. My wife's place of work sells them as well...I put one out on a stump last yr and I don't think it has ever had a track in the area we put it. Hit or miss I guess. Over at dad's house, you can't hardly run them out of their yard...but I bet as soon as one dies, they will wise up.

Most of my pictures are taken over Trophy Rocks . Even when they are gone , the deer still paw out the dissolved mineral in the soil . I have used them in Tn. , and here in Missouri with good results , but placement is the key . They get more use in areas near water and travel areas . Staging areas are the best areas I have found and some will get use anytime during the day .
