The closer the better for me. Probably 60 yards or less.

I'm not a proponent of long range shooting at deer.

Looks like the majority experience closer ranges than I originally thought!!

Since I almost always hunt fields during rifle season I always sight in all my rifles with a 200yrd zero, putting me only about 6-7.5ins low at 300yrds. Aim at the top of the back at 300 and everything within the 300yrd. range is dead meat.

I do have one rifle, my Remington CDL in.280 topped with a Leupold with a Boone and Crockett reticle and those cross hairs are dead on out to 500yrds. I just haven't had that opportunity at 500yrds yet!!!

Most of mine are 60-80yards. My closest was 20yards farthest 326yards. But id say 75% are 60-80yards

I have shot more than I can remember within 20 yards, ad around 20 around 100-150 yards and about a handful out past 150-300 yards.

Most of mine have powder burns on them . \:D

For some reason it takes me till almost the end of rifle to get out of the archery mindset.

Longest shot was 204yd. Closest was 22ft straight down.
Average is about 45yds not including bow.

Five feet?! You're not supposed to rub the Tinks on yourself!:)

20-130 yards.

Missed a deer two years ago @275 yards. I had to take the shot standing after running up the hill to get a clear shot. I really respect folks that can shot distances.
