How many of you guys will go scout the area you plan to hunt befor the squirrel season! How many of you will just go you the same trees / area you always hunt because you know what trees will always have squirrels?

Usually just stalk the woods for them. Its nice to cover a lot of ground.

If you go scouting for squirrels, you have too much time on your hands.

If I'm in the woods I'm constantly on the lookout for anything, found some pines the other day that the squirrels had just cut to pieces, the ground was covered in pine cuttin's & the cob of the pine cone.

once squirrel season is on I'm look'n for deer & coyote sign.

We have a big squirrel tourney here each yr on opening day( which is tomor) so yes I have been squirrel scouting.. Lots of nuts but few are being cut.. I guess they are not ready yet...squirrels I have found are cutting gum ball or walnuts.. I have not found a single place where they are cutting hickory yet....
