I was at the CO-OP store the other day and they had white & red clover for sale. Which type do you recommend for planting for food plots?

From my understanding, red clover tends to be more of an annual in the South while white clover is a perennial. Depending on where you are in East TN, maybe you can get perennial growth out of red.

Both. But there are lots of different types of red and white clovers. Some of the more preferred whites are like ladino, durana, patriot, etc. For red, I use cinnamon red. If they just say white, then its likely white dutch, which is not a more preferred variety. If they cant give any more info than just white or red, go somewhere else, I have that issue with my Co-Op alot, not alot of education in the place.

I go white all the way. Deer won't eat red at my place for whatever reason. I've always planted crimson with no luck. Deer hammer durana in all my plots though.

I got 20 #'s of ladino from Co-Op in Nashville for $4.30 per pound. They seemed somewhat knowledgeable when I dealt with them. I also purchased 8 #'s of Whitetail Institute Imperial Clover as an insurance policy. Probably a waste but it helped me feel more confident seeing as though this is my first time.

You'll be amazed at the size of leaves on the Imperial.

I've heard 5 lbs per acre if broadcasting. I may do a little more because I only limed ~1000 lbs/acre.
